The Fuller/Kelly House is a new residence built in a contemporary style with a nod to the 'Case Study Houses' of 1950's Los Angeles. The west-facing hillside site provides commanding views of the Pacific Ocean. To take full advantage of this, the main living spaces- Living Room and Balcony, Dining Room, Kitchen and Family Room- are on the second level, with bedrooms below. The first floor Master Suite opens onto a large Deck, with a secluded area for the Master Bath's indoor-outdoor tub. From the second level Living Room Balcony, a built-in ladder leads to a Roof Deck which also houses solar cells which provide for the full electrical needs of the home.

The needs of a growing family led to the remodel/addition of this classic one-story Venice Craftsman bungalow. Preserving the integrity of the existing house, the two-story addition adds much needed space as well as opening the house to the backyard. The end result is a home with an open Living-Dining Room, a large eat-in Kitchen, Family Room, two Bedrooms, Bath and Laundry Room on the first floor. A central Stair Hall links the old and new parts of the house, with a large skylight and windows that bring light into the first story. The second floor contains a Master Bedroom, Bathroom, Home Office, Large Balcony and a Reading Nook.

The owners of this one-story postwar bungalow wanted to open the house to their large backyard as well as add a second floor Master Suite. A "floating stair" in the middle of the house allows for front-door to backyard views, provides access to the new second floor, and allows much light to reach the previously dark center of the house. The new Patio, outdoor Kitchen and Dining area, as well as the large Balcony off the Master Bedroom provide substantial additional living space.

What started as a second story addition to a Craftsman Bungalow became a completely new house as the original structure could not be salvaged. The original facade of the 1910 cottage was restored and a new two-story house built behind it.
